- I had a similar problem, in trying to use my fax/modem. Try this: go into
- "Modems" under the Control Panel, pick your modem (if it is installed, if
- not, then nevermind) and pick "Properties". Choose the "Connection" tab,
- then turn off "Wait for dial tone" under "Call Preferences." My problem
- (possibly from the office phone system, but I'm not sure) was that 95
- wasn't catching a dial tone in the first instant it tried to connect, so
- it was giving up. Turning off "Wait for dial tone" got rid of all my
- problems. Give it a try if it sounds like the problem you're having.
